Maple Sugar Days

Maple Sugar Days

Saturday, February 28 & Sunday, March 1
Noon–5 p.m.

Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve | Ellenwood Nature Barn
3455 Poole Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45251

It’s maple sugaring time! Bring your family and celebrate the awakening of the trees as they prepare for spring and join us for the traditional craft of making maple syrup.

Practiced by even the earliest inhabitants of the area, maple sugaring is a coming-of-spring ritual that has been passed down through the generations. At Maple Sugar Days, sweet tooths of all ages will discover how the clear, sticky sap is collected from trees, boiled over a fire and transformed into the syrup enjoyed by all. Families can enjoy crafts, demonstrations and naturalist-led hikes through the sugarbush to learn first-hand about this fascinating process.

The event is free and open to the public. Maple sugar treats, including waffles, ice cream and cotton candy will be available for a small fee.
