Making the Most of the Off-Season

As kids start going back to school, and we start losing daylight earlier and earlier, golfers start to wind down and retire their clubs for the season. Unfortunately, we start to experience some of our finest weather here inCincinnati! With that said, I want to encourage everybody with a checklist of things you can do to improve your game for the upcoming season.

Take Lessons

The off-season is the best time to make changes to your swing. Making changes isn’t always easy, and it’s good to have some time to work on it and help make the change stick!

Check Equipment

Now’s the perfect time to have your equipment checked. Make sure your lofts are accurate, as well as your lie angles. It’s probably also a good time to put new grips on your clubs as well.

Develop Goals

Sit back and reflect upon this past season. Note the highs and the lows. Identify what area(s) of your game needs to improve to help you achieve your goals for the upcoming season. If you’re not certain where to start, it might be good to sit down with your local PGA Teaching Professional to get some ideas where to start.

Fitness

It can be a little more challenging to stay active as the weather gets colder. Be creative and try your best to develop a routine which will keep you in shape as you head into next year. It can be something as simple as walking on a regular basis or creating a golf specific workout routine with a physical fitness trainer.

Play Golf!

Playing in the colder weather isn’t all that bad, simply dress appropriately and have fun!
