Pitch a tent and enjoy some quality family time while still within walking distance to the essentials: bathrooms, the boathouse, and a playground. Friday Night Grill Out and other family activities will take place from 5–9 p.m., ending with a movie at 9:30 p.m.

Friday Night
  • ​3 p.m.: Campsite check-in begins 
  • 5–9 p.m.: Friday Night Grill Out and live music by Katie Prichard at the Boathouse 
  • Hay wagon rides 
  • Inflatable bounce houses & slide 
  • Great Parks mini golf 
  • Planetarium: Constellations Through the Seasons 
  • Live Animals: Creatures of the Night 
  • 5–11 p.m.: Great Parks concessions trailer is open 
  • 6 p.m.–6 a.m.: Overnight fishing on the lake (fishing ticket required) 
  • 6–9:30 p.m.: Marshmallows & s’mores around the campfire (s’mores kits available for purchase) 
  • 8:30–9:30 p.m.: Storytelling at the campfire rings 
  • 9:30–11 p.m.: Family movie at the shelter “The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature” 

Saturday Morning
  • ​7–10 a.m.: Campsite tear-down and camp cleanup
  • ​Arrival time is 3–8 p.m. on Friday. Please depart no later than 10 a.m. on Saturday. 
  • Campers must clean up their site prior to leaving. Place all trash in the dumpster located in the Shady Elm Shelter parking lot. 
  • Due to limited space, only one vehicle per campsite is permitted. A valid motor vehicle permit is required to enter the park. Cost for residents of Hamilton County: $10 annual, $3 daily; other visitors: $14 annual, $5 daily. 
  • A maximum of six people and two tents are permitted per campsite. No trailers, pop-up campers or RVs are permitted. One dining fly/tarp (12 x 12 max.) per site is allowed. Generators are not permitted. 
  • At least one person 18 years of age or older is required to stay on each campsite and assume responsibility for minors. 
  • Only one pet is permitted on each campsite. Pets must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times. Please pick up pet waste. Owners may be asked to remove loud or unruly pets from the camping area at the Rangers’ discretion. 
  • Due to limited space, visitors will not be permitted in the camping area. 
  • Campfires on sites are not permitted; however there will be several group campfires maintained throughout the evening. 
  • Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. 
  • Alcohol may not be brought into the park or consumed in the camping area. Alcoholic beverages may be purchased and consumed at the Friday Night Grill Out, which takes place from 5–9 p.m. at the boathouse. 
  • Great Parks Rangers, at their sole discretion, may terminate occupancy or remove individuals from the camping area with no refund. Profanity and loud or abusive behavior is prohibited. Conduct that could endanger the welfare of others or infringe on others’ enjoyment will not be tolerated. 
  • Campers are encouraged to read and understand the severe weather procedures, which will be posted at the picnic shelters, lodge and boathouse. 
  • For emergency assistance, dial 911. The boathouse will be open all night.
