    Nonstop Nature

Take time to take care of you, learn a new skill, or explore off the beaten path, and discover how the power of wild can restore and renew you.

Recharge by setting out among more than 84 miles of trails Great Parks offers throughout Hamilton County. Wander through the forests that dominate the more than 18,000 acres in the parks. Launch your kayak or canoe and explore the 25 miles of frontage along major rivers flowing through our big lands. Discover wetlands recently restored by Great Parks, now home to many endangered and threatened plants and animals.

Out there, you’ll be amazed at what you may find. Spot a great blue heron, one of Ohio’s largest bird species, standing in the water. Visit wildflower-filled meadows for some of the more than 100 species of butterflies that have been observed in the county. Watch for squirrels among the trees as they go about their entertaining daily routines. Catch a glimpse of spectacular bald eagles diving on fish in the water.
