The co-sponsors of Walk Club 2008 invite new members and seasoned walkers to join us once again for fitness and friendship. The Hamilton County Park District in partnership with the Hamilton County Public Health, Sharonville Parks and Recreation Department, and Senior Care Preferred Plus of The Christ Hospital sponsors walking groups at five parks. The Walk Club is a great way to get and stay motivated to exercise in a safe and friendly environment. Our free, flexible exercise program is designed for adults age 50 and over. Participants choose how many days a week they wish to walk. The walks are led by Park District volunteers and take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:30am in the following parks: Miami Whitewater Forest, Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve, Sharon Woods, Winton Woods and Fernbank Park.
The kick off program takes place on Wednesday March 5 at 11:00am in the Winton Center Auditorium in Winton Woods. On Wednesday May 7 we will meet at 11:00am at the Sharon Center in Sharon Woods for a potluck luncheon and educational presentation. In addition to bi-monthly meetings that promote healthy living we offer four nature hikes throughout the season led by naturalists. The first of our fun nature hikes takes place on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00am, when it’s time to get ‘Wild about Wildflowers’. All Walk Club members are invited to meet in the parking area at the head of the Great Oaks Trail in Winton Woods in readiness to search for all the beautiful colors of spring.
