Day Camps

Children ages 2-17 can take part in summer camps focused on nature, adventure, farm life and horseback riding! Camps are held in various Great Parks across the Cincinnati area, including Sharon Woods, Winton Woods and Lake Isabella. All camps are drop-off, unless otherwise indicated.

Great Outdoors Camp

It’s five fabulous days in the park! Enjoy the different outdoor experiences of Winton Woods and a visit to Miami Whitewater Forest. This camp includes low ropes course, horseback riding, golfing, hiking, canoeing or kayaking, rock-wall climbing, wetland exploration and more!  The adventures are endless at Great Parks with different experiences all day, every day.

You're All Wet Camp

Cool off this summer at Adventure Outpost! Campers will hit the water for activities that include canoeing, kayaking, fishing and creeking.  We’ll visit wetlands, catch aquatic critters and explore water habitats at several Great Parks.

Ultimate Challenge Camp

Ultimate Challenge Camp

Ages:  10–14

It’s a fast paced three-day adventure in Winton Woods! Campers will be challenged with individual sports such as archery, golfing, rock wall climbing and kayaking. They will also learn with team-building and partnered activities such as a low ropes course and canoeing.

Kayak Camp

Kayak Camp

Ages: 11–15 
Regular Price: $165
Location: Winton Woods

Dates: July 10–12, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

This camp is all about paddling. Join a certified American Canoe Association (ACA) instructor and staff on a three-day exploration into the world of water sports. The first two days will be spent learning and practicing our kayak skills on Winton Lake. On the third day of camp, we will take a river trip to the Little Miami River (weather and river conditions pending). Each camper will be responsible for bringing a lunch and a drink to camp each day. Refrigeration is not available on the third day.

Archery Camp

Archery Camp

Ages: 12–17

Trained archery instructors will cover archery basics using a compound bow during this two-day camp. Campers will learn basic archery instruction, as well as tournament style shooting, and take part in fun archery games.

Do you have the skills to survive in the wilderness? Learn to create water out of thin air, start a fire, build a shelter, create a snare, signal for help and more. Campers will be provided with a fire-starter that will be theirs to keep after camp concludes.

Summer Horse Camp

Summer Horse Camp

Ages: 7–17
Price: $280-350
Location: Winton Woods/Winton Woods Riding Center

Topics we will cover during camp include all aspects of horse safety, breeds, colors and markings of horses, anatomy of the horse, grooming, tacking and riding. This camp is suitable for beginners to intermediate level riders. Camp sessions are one-week, full-day (9 a.m.–4 p.m.). Registrations accepted on a first-come-first-served basis until camps fill and/or begin.

Advanced Summer Horse Camp

Advanced Summer Horse Camp

Ages: 7–17
Price: $350
Location: Winton Woods/Winton Woods Riding Center

To qualify for this Advanced Camp, riders must have achieved at least Novice level in lessons OR have attended at least FOUR prior horse camps. Topics covered include horse safety, breeds, colors and markings, grooming, tacking and a variety of riding styles. Camp is one-week, full-day (9 a.m.–4 p.m.).

IEA Hunt Seat Bootcamp

IEA Hunt Seat Bootcamp

Ages: 11 & up
Regular Price: $395
Location: Winton Woods/Riding Center

Dates: July 10–14, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

This camp is designed for serious riders who are part of an Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team or who are collegiate Hunt Seat bound. Riders participating in this camp should have an intermediate or better level of riding proficiency with experience in the Hunt Seat/Hunter Jumper style. Campers will receive intensive under saddle coaching, with a focus on proper equitation, excellent sportsmanship and horsemanship. There will be no lack of fun along the way, but campers will leave polished and ready for their next show.

Come along as we meet some of the cool critters that call streams, lakes and ponds home. We’ll discover fossils from an ancient sea and have some close encounters with Sharon Woods’ animal ambassadors. Mythical Beasts & Magical Stories Day Camp

Ages: 7–12

From Grimm’s fairy tales to Harry Potter, stories often include amazing creatures that awe and inspire. Campers will learn about these fantastic beasts by exploring enchanted forests, creating magical crafts and encountering the real life animals that inspired the stories.

Photos on the Go Day Camp

Photos on the Go Day Camp

Ages: 11–17

Join professional photojournalist Malinda Hartong as we explore the parks through photography. Learn how to take stunning photos on a smart phone and then edit them on the fly to create amazing works of art. Campers must bring their own smart phone, iPod Touch or tablet with a camera.
