The Hamilton County Park District offers three scenic campgrounds for a perfect weekend getaway - Miami Whitewater Forest, Steamboat Bend and Winton Woods.
In addition, there are two youth camps. Possum Run Youth Area in Winton Woods and Hidden Hollow Youth Area in Miami Whitewater Forest are ideal for scout and youth groups seeking a rustic overnight camping experience. Youth camps can be reserved by calling (513) 521-PARK.
A Motor Vehicle Permit is required to enter each park ($5.00 annual, $2.00 daily).
Campground Reservation Update – 12/1/09
Several exciting changes have recently taken place to make it easier and more convenient to reserve your favorite campsite.
- Reservations can now be placed up to one year in advance for all campsites and cabins at Winton Woods and Miami Whitewater Forest including the four Halloween Campout weekends at Winton Woods. There will no longer be an “opening day” each year or a special drawing for Halloween campsites.
- Holiday weekends no longer require a three-night stay. Cabin rentals no longer require a two-night stay on weekends.
- Phone reservations for Miami Whitewater Forest can now be placed by calling either Miami Whitewater Boathouse (513-367-9632, March-October) or Winton Woods Campground Office (513-851-2267, leave message and return phone number).
For your convenience, all campsites and cabins at Winton Woods and Miami Whitewater Forest can now be reserved online. Online reservations must be paid in full by credit card when placed. Camping fees are the same whether you reserve online, call the campground office, or stop by in person.
- Reservations for Steamboat Bend Campground at Woodland Mound are not available online at this time. Reservations for Steamboat Bend will be accepted at the Winton Woods Campground Office beginning February 26, 2010.
Our goal in introducing these changes is to make it easier than ever for you to reserve a campsite at the Hamilton County Park District. Since the online system is new for us, we do ask for your patience as technical challenges are certainly a possibility with any new technology.
Happy Camping!
