Great Parks Rangers will host an evening to teach children about traffic safety at the annual Safety Town, complete with a fun obstacle course and other activities as kids get behind the wheel to learn the rules of the road. Safety Town takes place from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, at Miami Whitewater Forest, and is open to all ages.

The highlight of Safety Town is the kid-friendly driving course, in which children can drive small pedal-powered go-karts through a miniature road course designed by Rangers with stop signs, traffic cones and even some fun obstacles. Rangers arrange the course to share safety tips for children as both pedestrians and passengers, and they will also hand out fun prizes.

Safety Town is a great opportunity for Great Parks guests to meet the Rangers who keep parks safe.

Great Parks Rangers are state-certified law enforcement officers who exercise full police power and provide year-round 24-hour park patrol service in the 22 parks and conservation areas of Great Parks.
