Great Parks to Host Three E-Waste Recycling Events
Great Parks will host electronic waste (e-waste) recycling events on the first Saturday of three consecutive months in locations across Hamilton County, building on its conservation mission through a partnership with Cohen Recycling that has already prevented tons of e-waste from entering landfills in recent years.
“Conservation leadership is a priority for us at Great Parks, and we’re proud to offer this service that will keep dangerous materials found in everyday electronics from entering landfills and damaging the environment,” said Stephanie Bacher, sustainability coordinator for Great Parks.
The Great Parks e-waste events will be on the following dates:
- 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Miami Whitewater Forest
- 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Woodland Mound
- 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Harper Meadows in Winton Woods
Great Parks and Cohen Recycling will accept most items with a cord, including:

Any device that has a cathode ray tube, such as old televisions, and flat screen TVs require a $10 fee, cash only. There is no maximum for the number of items that can be turned in. Great Parks and Cohen Recycling are unable to accept light bulbs, wood, paper and cardboard, and any item containing refrigerant including refrigerators, freezers, humidifiers and dehumidifiers.
Great Parks and Cohen Recycling also have a separate partnership for recycling holiday lights which has recycled more than 48 tons of material since 2014. This year’s holiday lights recycling program will begin in December.
