Great Parks Rangers will host first responders at Winton Woods Harbor for National Night Out, a chance for the public to meet emergency personnel who keep the community safe, see their equipment up close, and walk away with greater appreciation for the work they do to protect our communities. Great Parks  celebration of National Night Out is from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, at Winton Woods Harbor.

Participating agencies will include Great Parks Rangers, local fire and EMS squads, K9 units, Hamilton County Police Association SWAT, Urban Search and Rescue, the bomb squad and multiple departments from area municipalities.

Guests can enjoy free burgers and hot dogs courtesy of presenting sponsor Fifty West Brewing Company plus free ice cream from the Winton Woods Harbor snack bar, while supplies last.

National Night Out is a community-building campaign that takes place every year to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Neighborhood groups from across the country, law enforcement agencies, civic groups and volunteers arranged the first National Night Out in 1984. Today millions of people in all 50 states take part in National Night Out celebrations.

Great Parks Rangers are the law enforcement officers who provide year-round, 24-hour patrol service in the parks. More than 35 Great Parks Rangers enforce state laws and park bylaws, and work toward the protection and conservation of park lands and wildlife.

Admission is free and a Great Parks Motor Vehicle Permit is not required to enter Winton Woods during event hours.
