Vine Monitoring & Removal at Miami Whitewater Forest
calendar_today Wednesday, January 21
watch 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
group Adult
What to know
Enjoy an off-trail hike in the woods to monitor and manage a variety of vines. Japanese Honeysuckle, Wintercreeper, and Oriental Bittersweet limit forest floor sunlight, which restricts the growth of native species and can girdle native plants and trees. This damage to the ecosystem can cause hazards like tree collapse. Monitoring will help Miami Whitewater Forest's Conservation & Parks Team effectively control these species. This event runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
