On the last Saturday of each month, start your morning with some peace and quiet at the Nature Center. Wake up with the birds and watch them fly by while sipping freshly brewed coffee.

The Vineyard Classic

What to know

The 40th Annual Vineyard Classic is a two day 36 hole tournament. Amateurs only. For Saturday's round, players may form their own group. Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin each day. Senior Division age 55 years and older. After Saturday's play, players will be divided into five to seven flights based on scores and number of participants. The 36 hole total in each flight will determine the winners. 40% of the entrants win prizes. In the event of being rained out, 18 hole scores will be used to determine flights as well as winners in each flight.

Women in the Outdoors: Birding by Boat

What to know

Develop outdoor skills, make new friends and gain confidence in a welcoming, women-only environment. In this session, join a nature interpreter and kayak instructor to explore the waters of Winton Lake! Begin with a safety overview, then paddle out to discover waterfowl and other wildlife. All equipment is provided. Participants must properly fit into the provided life jackets and not exceed the 275-lb. weight limit.

Protect nature, care for the outdoors and explore Great Parks at our community volunteer project! Improve the health of the forest’s understory along the Great Oaks Trail. Learn the tips and tricks for identifying aggressive plant species, including honeysuckle, and properly treating and managing them to prevent regrowth.

Beginning Golf I

What to know

A fun way to learn the wonderful game of golf! You will become familiar with the fundamentals of the five shots encountered on the golf course, including wood shots, iron shots, chipping, pitching and putting. Classes will cover fundamentals, rules and etiquette. Classes run five consecutive weeks.
