Invasive Species Removal at Shawnee Lookout

calendar_today Wednesday, December 17

watch 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

What to know

Remove invasive, woody plants around the Cedar Bend Picnic Area. The removal of invasive species, including bush honeysuckle, wisteria, wintercreeper, and burning bush, will open the understory for native species. Creating this space in the forest will allow for the growth of paw paw, spicebush, and spring ephemerals. These native species are vital to our ecosystem and provide a better food supply for native wildlife and a lovely experience for park guests.
