The friendly and welcoming Great Parks program leaders are proud LGBTQIA+ community members who will share the beauty of the outdoors with you. Each month, we’ll venture out to one of our gorgeous Great Parks and explore a different topic. Fairy Tale Festival

Glenwood GardensThe Great Parks Highfield Discovery Garden at Glenwood Gardens is the setting for fairy tale folklore that leaps off the page into real life for the family-favorite Fairy Tale Festival. Kids of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favorite fairy tale characters to join the fun. Guests watch as their favorite fairy tales appear before their eyes with character meet-and-greets, armored sword fights, Madcap Puppets shows, and a wizard weaving his magic.

Winton Woods
Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo is one of the largest FREE interactive outdoor recreation and nature education events for children in the country. With the support of local business partners, Great Parks reaches 5,000+ local children annually and expanded to a two-day event for 2024.

Hops & Hyzers Disc Golf TournamentWoodland MoundThis annual disc golf tournament, in partnership with HighGrain Brewing, is open to participants of all ages, especially those within the beginner to intermediate levels of play. Experience Great Parks’ renovated 18-hole course - featuring improved tee boxes, signage and baskets - and enjoy a HighGrain brew with friends and family. Mobile disc baskets and other lawn games are also available to families, children and spectators.

National Night OutWinton Woods HarborGreat Parks is a proud local partner for National Night Out, taking place across the country every August to promote partnerships between the community, local police departments and other emergency agencies. Many first responders will be on site to demonstrate how they protect the community, while also showing off some of the specialized equipment they use. Games, animal encounters and K-9 demos will also be part of this special community event.

Safety TownWinton WoodsChildren ages 4-12 maneuver big wheels and bikes of all sizes on a safety skills driving course featuring obstacles, emergency signals and a pedestrian safety station. Fun activities and education stations await, including an animal encounter from Great Parks. Safety tips are especially important for children who are enjoying the more than 80 miles of trails within Great Parks, either on foot or on wheels.

Trunk or TreatSharon WoodsThis popular annual event is co-hosted by Great Parks and Sharonville Parks & Rec, welcoming kids of all ages to come and trick or treat through Sharon Woods.
