A half-mile section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail at Bass Island is closed from April 21 through May 1, while the parking lot is expanded and the entry drive from Newtown Road is reconstructed. The closure extends from U.S. 50/Wooster Pike to the entrance to the Little Miami Golf Center.
Trail users can still access the trail from the Little Miami Golf Center and Avoca Trailhead, both of which offer on-site parking with a valid Motor Vehicle Permit.
Avoca Mountain Bike Trail
Accessible to beginner and adaptive mountain bikers, this trail offers gentle terrain and a river overlook. It is the first of what will be a series of nearly 10 miles of natural surface trails winding along and between the river and the existing Little Miami Scenic Trail built in collaboration with the Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA), Anderson Park District and Cincinnati Parks.
