Contractors will start lowering Sharon Lake on Tuesday, October 27. The lake will remain lowered until Spring 2027. The central area of Sharon Lake, near the harbor, will need to be lowered a minimum of 12 feet in order to install sheet piling for the new lake edge. A pool of water will remain in the center of the lake for fish habitat. The water levels will vary throughout the lake due to the weirs that were constructed during the dredge project. The weirs will help maintain higher water levels north and east of Kreis dam. These areas will only be lowered 4 feet below the normal pool height. Boat access to the lake will be restricted while the water is down. Water levels will be raised for the 2027 boating season. Completion of the project is subject to change and updates will be provided on the Sharon Woods Revitalization project page.
