Great Parks is planning and constructing the Glenwood Gardens to Winton Woods Trail, a new 3.6-mile shared-use trail that extends the West Fork Mill Creek Greenway Trail and offers a safe, accessible connection between two of Great Parks' most popular destinations. An important link in Greater Cincinnati's regional trail network, the new trail expands opportunities for recreation and vehicle-free transportation in an urbanized area. Once complete, more than nine miles of continuous path will link community resources across Springfield Township, Greenhills, Woodlawn and Wyoming.

Designed as a 12-foot-wide, paved and ADA-compliant connector, the trail opens safe and convenient park entry points for walkers, runners, bicyclists, wheelchair users, strollers and other non-motorized users. Identified as a priority in Great Parks’ 2019 Comprehensive Master Plan, the project responds directly to community requests for more trail connections and access. Phase 1 construction included new sidewalk connections to Metro bus transit and a signalized crosswalk to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety on Springfield Pike and Glendale-Milford Road. Phase 2 construction will complete the trail connection between the existing West Fork Mill Creek Greenway Trail at the entrance to Glenwood Gardens and the Harbor Loop Trail at Winton Woods.

Great Parks held a public meeting April 1, 2021, to gather public input as part of the project development process. Public input is used to help make decisions regarding the trail's final design.

The current total cost of design and construction is estimated at more than $9 million.

  • The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) for a $352,000 federal Transportation Alternatives grant for Phase 1 construction, and a $6 million Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement Program grant for Phase 2 construction.
  • The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for a $500,000 Clean Ohio Trail Fund (COTF) grant for Phase 2 construction.
  • The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a $123,000 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant for Phase 1 construction.
